Neal Hegarty is a master permaculture designer and the design authority behind CreaSol Permaculture, a regenerative-design practice and teaching school at Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. He works with landowners and communities across the Atitlán watershed to design and build food forests, water systems, and ecological structures — from small residential retrofits to whole-landscape regeneration.
At Granja Tz'ikin, his working farm above the lake, the philosophy stands up in the ground: a regenerative farm, a farm-to-table table, and a teaching site where students train hands-on in living systems. He is currently moving his permaculture design course onto a custom learning platform — widening access to the method and growing the network of designers who carry it.
Within Our Collective Edge, Neal sets the design standard. He holds the technical bar for every land project and mentors — and certifies — the designers who carry the work across the network, so that the same rigor shows up whether the site is a highland food forest or a high-desert farm.
